Mickey Brown, Inc. of Hourna, Louisiana, is recalling an “undetermined amount” of beef burrito products that were produced without the benefit of federal inspection. Lack of inspection means products haven’t been checked for issues by federal authorities. No reports of any illnesses or any adverse reactions have been received to date in connection with this recall.
These are ready-to-eat beef burrito products. They were produced on various dates ranging from March 28, 2017 through March 6, 2018. The recalled products are: 1 pound 2-ounce plastic packages containing “Mickey Brown’s A Taste of Cajun 3 Beef Burritos.” The product has the establishment number “EST. 33915” inside the USDA mark of inspection. The products are labeled with “Keep Refrigerated” but they may be frozen. The products are not labeled with a “best by” or “use by” date. These burritos were shipped to distributors in Louisiana, which then distributed the product for further sale through retail outlets and over the internet.
The problem was discovered by FSIS personnel during routine inspection activities. Anyone who is concerned about any possible health effects should consult a healthcare provider.
If you purchased this product, do not eat it. Throw it away in a sealed or double wrapped container or package so other people and animals can’t get at it, or take it back to the place of purchase for a full refund.
FSIS conducts recall effectiveness checks to verify that firms are notifying their customers about the recall. They also want to make sure that steps are taken so the product is no longer available to any consumers. A recall distribution list has been posted for this recalled product. You can find it at the USDA website. It lists retailers in California, Hawaii, and Nevada.
