If you purchased any of those products, do not eat them. Throw them away in a sealed or double bagged package, or take them back to the store where you purchased them for a full refund.
It’s important that you then clean out your refrigerator, or wherever you stored these products, with a solution of 1 tablespoon liquid chlorine bleach to one gallon of water to kill any bacteria. Remember that Listeria bacteria can grow at refrigerator temperatures, and freezing doesn’t kill it. Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds after cleaning and after handling these products.
If you ate these recalled products, monitor yourself for the symptoms of listeriosis for the next 70 days. Those symptoms include stiff neck, stiff muscles, severe headache, high fever, nausea, and diarrhea. Pregnant women may only be sick with what seems like the flu, but this illness can cause stillbirth, miscarriage, and premature labor. If you do get sick, see your doctor.
