If you purchased any of these products, don’t eat them, even if you are going to heat them before serving. Discard them in a double wrapped container in a secure garbage can, or take them back to the place of purchase for a refund.

Then clean out your refrigerator or freezer with a solution of 1 tablespoon liquid chlorine bleach to 1 gallon of water. Listeria monocytogenes bacteria can grow at refrigerator temperatures, and freezing does not kill it. Wash your hands after handling this product and after cleaning.

If you ate any of these products, you need to watch yourself for the symptoms of listeriosis for the next 70 days. Symptoms can include high fever, vomiting, nausea, stiff neck, severe headache, and muscle aches. Pregnant women are particularly at risk, because they can suffer miscarriage, premature labor, and stillbirth with this infection even they may only be mildly ill. If you do feel sick, see your doctor.
