Two recalls have been issued; one for smoked chicken wings by True Cost Farm in Minnesota, the other an update of the Randsland Super Salad Kit recall for Listeria monocytogenes in Canada.
The Minnesota Department of Agriculture is issuing a consumer advisory for a smoked chicken wings that was sold by True Cost Farm. That facility is located in Montrose, Minnesota. Public health officials discovered that 169 pounds of smoked chicken wings was produced without required state inspection.
Most of these True Cost Farm smoked chicken wings were served at Tullibee Restaurant. That facility is located in the Hewing Hotel at 300 Washington Avenue North in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The wings were served between July 20, 2018 and September 6, 2018. The remaining smoked chicken wings have been destroyed.
No reports of adverse reactions or illness have been received due to the consumption of this product. Anyone who did eat smoked chicken wings at Tullibee restaurant and may have concerns should contact a healthcare provider.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is updating its food recall warning of Randsland Super Salad Kit for possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination to include more product information. The recalled product is Randsland Super Salad Kit in 454 gram packages. The code on the product is 090318, and the UPC number is 0 57225 00005 6. This product was sold in New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island at the retail level.
If you purchased either of these products, do not eat them. If you have the salad kit stored in your refrigerator, clean that appliance with a mild bleach solution to kill bacteria. Listeria monocytogenes bacteria can grow at refrigerator temperatures.
