Conagra Brands of Milton, Pennsylvania is recalling about 32,400 pounds of canned beef products because of a potential processing defect, which could result in survival of material pathogens. The type of defect was not mentioned in the recall notice. No illnesses or adverse reactions have been reported to the company in association with this problem.
The canned beef items were produced on July 18, 2019. The recalled item is 15-ounce cans of “Kaskey’s Beefy Mac Pasta in Tomato & Meat Sauce, with a best by date of JUL 07 2021. This product has the establishment number “EST. 794” inside the USDA mark of inspection. The cans were shipped to distribution centers and retail locations in Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, and Texas.
The problem was discovered by the establishment on July 27, 2019 during routine activities. If you purchased this product, do not eat it, even if you plan to thoroughly heat it. Some bacteria can produce toxins that are not destroyed by heat.
You can take this product back to the store where you purchased it. Or you can throw it away in a secure garbage can with a tight lid so other people and animals can’t get at it.
USDA is conducting retail effectiveness checks to make sure that the firm notifies customers about the recall and has taken steps to make sure the product is no longer available to consumers.
