Happy Colon Cookie Products Recalled For Undeclared Milk

Happy Colon Foods of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma is recalling Happy Colon cookie products, including YUM Shortbread Cookie and Mmmm Chocolate Chip Cookie because they may contain milk, one of the major food allergens, that is not declared on the label. Anyone who is allergic to milk or who is lactose intolerant could have a serious allergic reaction if they eat these products. No illnesses or reactions have been reported to the company to date.

These cookies were distributed in Oklahoma, New York, Connecticut, Texas, North Carolina, Kansas, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Tennessee, Arizona via mail order and direct delivery.

Both recalled products, both Happy Colon YUM Shortbread Cookies and Happy Colon Mmmm Chocolate Chip Cookies are packaged in white film and distributed within the Happy Colon Foods prep kit. The recalled product has an expiration date of September 27, 2020. The net weight is 0.98 ounces (28 grams).

The recall was started after the company discovered that the Happy Colon cookie products containing milk were distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of milk. The problem was caused by a printing error on labeling.

If you purchased either of these cookie products and cannot consume milk for whatever reason, don’t eat them. Throw them away or take them back to the place of purchase for a refund. You can contact the company for replacement information.

Symptoms of food allergies can range from mild, including tingling of the mouth, lips, and tongue, to severe, including swelling of the throat and breathing problems. Symptoms of lactose intolerance can include bloating, gas, painful cramps, and diarrhea.
