Ofood Ssamnjang Original Seasoned Soybean Paste, in the mild flavor and in three sizes, is being recalled in Canada for improperly declared peanut. Anyone who is sensitive to or who is allergic to peanuts could have a serious or fatal reaction if they eat this product. The recalling firm is Lemond Food Corp., Seoul Trading Corp. This product was sold to the general public and also to hotels, restaurants, and institutions.

The recalled item is Ofood Mild Ssamjang Original Seasoned Soybean Paste. It is packaged in green tubs with a picture of the product on the front. The 170 gram size has the UPC number 8 801052 048192. The 500 gram size has the UPC number 8 801052 048215. And the 1 kilogram size has the UPC number 8 801052 048208. For all of these sizes, all codes where peanut is not declared on the bilingual recall is included in the recall.

If you purchased this product and you are allergic to or sensitive to peanuts, do not eat it. You can throw it away in a secure garbage can with a tight fitting lid after first wrapping or double bagging the tub so other people can’t see it, or you can take it back to the store where you bought it for a full refund.
