Stop & Shop Supermarket Company is recalling peanut butter sandwich crackers because they were made by Late July Organic Snacks and may be contaminated with Salmonella bacteria. The snacks are sold at Stop & Shop. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with the consumption of these products.
The recalled items include Late July Organic Snacks Mini Peanut Butter Sandwich Crackers. The 5 ounce size has a UPC number of 89044400070. The 1.125 ounce size has a UPC number of 89044400071, and the 9 ounce size has a UPC number of 89044400072.
UPDATE: The items have “best before” dates of May 13, 2013 through July 13, 2013. The company extended the “best before” dates on September 28, 2012. The recall notice does not mention if this recall is tied to the huge Sunland peanut butter and nut products recall.
If you have purchased these products, return them to the store for a refund, or discard the product and bring the receipt back to the place of purchase for a refund.
