In Canada, Wafers Recalled for Undeclared Peanuts

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Marché Balkan are recalling wafers from the marketplace because they contain peanuts, one of the major food allergens, that is not declared on the label. Anyone with an allergy or severe sensitivity to peanuts could have a serious or life-threatening reaction if they consume this product. No reports of allergic reactions have been received to date.

The recalled products are Wafers with Cyrillic characters only, in 35 gram packages. The UPC number is 3 800061 603717 and all codes where peanuts are not declared on the label are recalled. Borovetz Wafer with Cyrillic characters only in 630 gram containers is recalled. The UPC number is 3 800102 719032. All codes where peanut is not declared on the label are recalled. Finally, Wafers in 120 gram packages with Cyrillic characters only is recalled. The UPC number is 3 800102 701075 and all codes where peanuts are not declared on the label are recalled.

If you purchased these products and are allergic to peanuts, do not eat them. Discard or return to the place of purchase for a refund. The products were sold in Quebec at the retail level. You can see pictures of the recalled products at the CFIA web site.
