Baraka Apricot Candies Recalled Because of Undeclared Sulfites

U.B.C. Food Distributors in Dearborn, Michigan, are recalling “Baraka Apricot Candies” because of undeclared sulfites, which are a preservative. The state of New York found the sulfites during routine sampling. Package labels did not declare sulfites as preservatives because of a “temporary breakdown in the company’s production and packaging processes.”

No illnesses or injuries have been reported in connection with this product. Anyone with a sensitivity to sulfites who eats these candies can experience serious or life-threatening reactions.
