Cold Smoked Salmon Recalled for Possible Listeria

Ocean Beauty Seafoods LLC is recalling 371 cases of ready-to-eat cold smoked salmon products because they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. There have been no reports of illness associated with the consumption of this product.

The first recalled product is 96 cases of Lasco brand 4 ounce Nova Salmon. The UPC number is 0 72840 01751 7 and the Pack Code is 285. The second recalled product is 275 cases of Nathan’s brand 3 ounce Nova Salmon. The UPC number is 0 73030 80368 2 and Pack Code 285. Both are products of Chile. The salmon was distributed to retailers in Washington, Oregon, California, Arizona, Texas, Colorado, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Jersey, and New York from 11/20/2012 through 12/12/2012.

Internal testing by the company revealed the presence of Listeria monocytogenes. If you have purchased these products, do not eat them. Discard open packages, and return unopened packages to the place of purchase for a refund. FOr questions and more information, call 206-285-6800.
