LA Star Seafood, Inc. of Los Angeles, California is recalling Vobla Dry and Vobla Smoked because the fish may be contaminated with Clostridium botulinum. This bacteria can cause life-threatening illness and death, even in healthy people. The fish was not properly eviscerated.

Clostridium botulinum spores are more concentrated in a fish’s viscera. Symptoms of botulism poisoning include blurred or double vision, general weakness, poor reflexes, difficulty swallowing, and respiratory paralysis which can lead to death.
If you have purchased this product, destroy it or return to the place of purchase. There have not been any reported illnesses associated with the consumption of these products.
