Ready-To-Eat Pizza Stick Products Recalled

Pasou Foods, of Syracuse, Indiana, is recalling about 147 pounds of frozen, fully cooked, ready-to-eat pizza stick products because a meat in the product may have been produced without benefit of inspection.

The product details are:

  • Boxes containing 100 “Pizza Stix”
  • Case labels have the establishment number “EST. 1903” in the USDA mark of inspection
  • May have been produced in 2012 on February 2 and February 29
  • Products were sold to a food distributor for further distribution to a caterer and other institutions in Indiana

The problem was discovered during an ongoing food safety assessment of the company. FSIS discovered raw ground pork used in the product was purchased from an unapproved source whose raw pork products may not have been federally inspected.

There have been no reports of illness associated with the consumption of these products. If you have questions, you can call George Pavel, a company representative, at 1-574-457-4092.
