Sysco Seattle Inc., a firm in Seattle, Washington, is recalling about 16,800 pounds of ground beef patties imported from Canada because they may have been contaminated with E. coli 0157:H7.

Apparently, Sysco began notifying their customers on March 20, 2012 after being contacted by New Food Classics. FSIS was not aware of this action and issued a public health alert earlier today. The recall is for the same product that the alert was based on.
