Applegate Gluten Free Chicken Nuggets Recalled for Undeclared Wheat

King’s Delight of Georgia is recalling 1,572 pounds of frozen chicken nuggets labeled as gluten-free because they contain wheat, one of the major food allergens, that is not declared on the label. There have been no reports of adverse reactions or illness associated with the consumption of this product.

Recall SignThe product is 8 ounce cartons of “APPLEGATEĀ® Naturals Gluten-Free Chicken Nuggets.” The nuggets were packaged on September 19, 2012. The establishment number “P-2617” is found on the side of each carton. The lot number is 210864 and best before date is 8/28/13. The UPC number is 25317-00556 printed on the back of each carton. They were sold in Indiana, Maryland, Oregon, and Washington. The firm notified FSIS of the problem when a consumer familiar with the product noted a color difference.
