National Beef Ground Beef Recalled for E. coli O157:H7 Sold in 12 States

We have more information about the recall of 22,737 pounds of raw ground beef products made by National Beef Packing for E. coli O157:H7. The beef was sold in Arkansas, Arizona, Georgia, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Texas. No reports of illness have been received to date in connection with this problem.

The 10-pound packages of beef were packaged in clear chubs. “National Beef” 80/20 Coarse Ground Chuck had package code 0481; “National Beef” 81/19 Coarse Ground Beef had package code 0421, and “National Beef” Fine Ground Chuck had package code 0484. All packages have use by/sell by dates of June 14, 2013. All packages have the establishment number “EST. 208A” inside the USDA mark of inspection. Consumers may still have this beef in their freezers. If you do, discard them in a sealed container. For questions and more information, call 877-857-4143.
