Omaha Steaks Frozen Chicken Alfredo Recalled for Undeclared Eggs

Intevation Food Group of Plover, Wis. is recalling 156,924 pounds of Omaha Steaks brand frozen chicken fettuccine alfredo products because they contain an undeclared allergen, eggs. People who are allergic to eggs should not eat the recalled product as it may cause illness. At this point, there have been no reports of adverse reactions associated with eating this product.

omaha-steaks-recallThe recalled product were packaged and produced on various dates from May 11, 2012, through October 8, 2013 and shipped to distributors in Nebraska for further distribution through retail, interne and catalog sales.

The recalled product was sold in 18-oz. trays labled “OMAHA STEAKS, 2367 Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo.”  The packages have the establishment number “P-39949” inside the USDA mark of inspection and the case codes 9502367 or 9802367.

Intevation discovered the problem during an internal label review with the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (USDA-FSIS). Anyone concerned about a reaction should contact a healthcare provider.
