Westlake Foods Expands Pork Recall for Undeclared Wheat and Soy

Westlake Foods of California is recalling more cured pork products for undeclared wheat, one of the major food allergens. And these newly recalled products also contain undeclared soy.

The products are 12-pound blocks of “PATE GAN TAY HO LIVERWURST SPREAD”, distributed in cases for restaurant and wholesale use nationwide, and 6-ounce cups of “PATE GAN TAY HO LIVERWURST SPREAD” distributed at retail, restaurant, and wholesale locations nationwide. The products have the establishment number “EST. 1627A” inside the USDA mark of inspection. They have case code numbers “213001” through “213234”. All products were made between January 1, and August 22, 2013. You can see the product labels at the USDA site.

The problem occurred because of a change in the company’s spice mix. There have been no reports of adverse reactions associated with the consumption of these products. For questions, call Thuy Nguyen, Secretary, at 714-973-2286.
