Freeze Dried Fruit Sold at Costco Recalled for Possible Salmonella

Oregon Freeze Dry has issued a voluntary recall of products sold to Costco stores because they may be contaminated with Salmonella bacteria.  There is no word on any illnesses being reported that are associated with this recalled product.

Recall SignageThe recalled product is Kirkland Signature Real Sliced Fruit, with item number 527069 and best by dates of February 14, 2015 through March 11, 2015. If you have purchased this product, do not eat it. Return it to your local Costco for a full refund.

This bacteria can cause serious infections, especially in young children, those with immune deficiencies, weakened immune systems, chronic illnesses, and the elderly. Symptoms included fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain.
