In Canada, Bread Recalled for Undeclared Allergen

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Salem Brothers are recalling Kaak brand breads because they contain sesame, a food allergen, that is not declared on the label. There is no word on whether or not any allergic reactions have been reported to date.

Recall SignageThe recalled products are all Kaak brand. All codes are recalled where sesame is not declared on the label. They include Crispy Baked Bread (Plain) in 350 gram containers with UPC number 5 285000 599098; Crispy Baked Bread (Anis Seed) in 350 gram containers with UPC number 5 285000 599098, and Crispy Baked Bread (Black Seed) in 350 gram containers with UPC number 5 285000 599098. They were sold in Alberta, Manitoba, Nova Scotia, Ontario, and Saskatchewan.

If you purchased these products and are allergic to sesame, do not eat them. Discard or return to the place of purchase for a refund.
