In Canada, Freshouse Foods is recalling Kirkland chicken breast strips because they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes bacteria. No illnesses have been reported to date that are associated with the consumption of this product.

The UPC number isĀ 0 96619 70787 4 and the code on the product is Best Before APR13 – APR26, inclusive. They were sold in New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Quebec, and possibly nationwide.

If you purchased this item, don’t eat it. Discard it or return to the place of purchase for a refund. If you ate this item, monitor yourself for the symptoms of Listeria monocytogenes food poisoning for the next 70 days. Those symptoms include persistent fever, muscle aches, severe headache, neck stiffness, nausea, and vomiting. Pregnant women may only have a mild flu-like illness, but listeriosis can cause stillbirth and miscarriage.
