In Canada, Peppercorn Recall for Salmonella Updated

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency and Noah’s Natural Foods are updating the black peppercorn recall for Salmonella that has taken place in recent days. The first warning was issued in April 5, 2014, and was updated on April 12, 2014 as well. The peppercorns were sold by Frontier Natural Products Co-op in the United States.

Noah's Black Peppercorns Salmonella RecallThis new recall is for organic peppercorns sold in bulk. The peppercorns have no brand name. They were sold at Noah’s Natural Foods at 322 Bloor Street West in Toronto from February 13, 2014 until April 11, 2014. They were also sold at Noah’s Natural Foods at 2395 Yonge Street in Toronto from February 2014 until mid-March 2014.

If you purchased these products, do not eat them. Discard in a sealed container or return to the place of purchase for a refund.

Food contaminated with Salmonella bacteria will not look, smell, or taste spoiled. Young children, pregnant women, the elderly, and those with chronic illnesses and weakened immune systems are most vulnerable to Salmonella infections. If you become ill with fever, vomiting, headache, nausea, diarrhea, and abdominal cramps, see a health care provider as soon as possible. No illnesses have been reported to date in association with the consumption of this product.
