Kroger is recalling Jensen Meat Company ground beef patties that were processed by Rancho Feeding Corporation. That facility processed diseased and unsound animals without the benefit of full federal inspection so a recall was issued for all of its products made in 2013. The products were sold at Frys, Ralphs, Food4Less, FoodsCo, and Smiths. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with the consumption of these products.
Kroger is asking consumers to check their freezers for eight recalled pre-packaged, frozen Kroger Ground Beef products with a “use by” date of no later than July 13, 2014. The products include Family Pack, 80% lean ground beef patties in 5 pound packages, Family Pack 73% lean patties in 5 pound packages, and Ground Beef Mini Sliders 85% lean in 2.5 pound packages. Also recalled are 85% lean patties in 3 pound packages, Family pack 80% lean patties in 5 pound packages, Ground Beef Patties, 80% lean in 3 pound packages, 93% lean patties in 3 pound packages, and 73% lean beef patties in 3 pound packages.
All Kroger stores have initiated their customer recall notification process. If you purchased any of these products, do not eat them. Return them to the place of purchase for a refund.

If you bought these products at Walmart, return them. The USDA hasn’t specified what symptoms eating this meat would cause.
