MSU Recalls Products for Foreign Materials

Michigan State University is recalling several ice cream and cookie products because they may have metal shavings. An employee found that a machine used to make the products was malfunctioning. An inspection revealed that the machine may have deposited metal shavings into the products.

Recall SignThe recalled products are MSU Bakers Decorated Sugar Cookies, Udder Delight’s Swiss Chocoalte Chip Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich, and Udder Delight’s Classic Chocolate Chip Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich. The Michigan Department of Agriculture, which oversees food production in the state and at the University, started an inspection and investigation.

No reports of injury have been received to date. If you have these products, contact the MSU bakery. The University will discard the products and issue credits. Production will begin again with new equipment after the inspection is completed.
