Schnucks Bakery Recalls Cakes for Undeclared Nuts

Schnucks Bakery has voluntarily recalled cakes that have been decorated with pecans that are not declared on the label. Anyone with an allergy to tree nuts who eats this product could have a serious or life threatening reaction. No illnesses or allergic reactions have been reported to date. Even though the pecans are visible on the product, the law requires that the allergen be disclosed on the label.

Recall SignThe Devil’s Food Cakes were sold at all Schnucks stores in Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, and Wisconsin. The recalled Schnucks Bakery 8″ Devil’s Food Cake has a UPC number of 04131831186, and an item number of 31-40080. The Schnucks Bakery 1/2 CK – Devil’s Food CK has a UPC number of 04131831078 and item number 31-40503.

If you have an allergy to pecans (tree nuts), and have purchased this product, do not eat it. Discard or return to the place of purchase for a refund.
