Two Foods Recalled for Undeclared Sesame Seeds in Canada

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency, along with two facilities, is recalling two products because they contain sesame seeds, a food allergen, that is not declared on the label. There is no word on whether or not any allergic reactions have been reported.

RecallThe first is Double Happiness Five Spices Powder, in 454 gram packages. The code on the product is Best Before 04-02-16 and Best Before 30 DEC. 2015. The UPC number is 6 26430 00073 3. It was sold in British Columbia at the retail level.

The second product is Hommus (hummus) products by Oskar Specialty Foods. These products were distributed to hotel, restaurant, and institutional facilities in Ontario. They include Oskar Food Hommus Garlic in 5 pound containers, with UPC number 8 82199 00802 5, and  Oskar Food Hommus Tomato Basil in 5 pound containers, with UPC number 8 82199 00806 3. Also recalled are Tia’s Gourmet Kitchen Hommus Roasted Red Pepper in 5 pound containers and UPC number 8 82199 00802 5, and Tia’s Gourmet Kitchen Hommus Artichoke Lemon Pepper in 5 pound containers, with UPC number 8 82199 00813 1.
