Two Recalls for Undeclared Allergens

Price Chopper is recalling three different types of sandwiches sold at the Schenectady, New York store on May 6 and 7, 2014 because they contain cheese, made with milk that is not declared on the label. Milk is one of the major food allergens. Anyone with an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk could have a serious or life threatening reaction if they eat this product.

The recalled products are Roast Beef, Ham and Swiss, and Classic Italian Sub sandwiches. There are no UPC number or product codes. If you are not allergic to milk, there is no health risk. If you are allergic to milk, discard the product or return it to the place of purchase for a refund.

In Canada, Happy Veggie World is recalling imitation meat products because they contain egg that is not declared on the label. The products were sold in British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, and Saskatchewan.

You can see the long list of recalled products at the CFIA web site with UPC numbers, sizes, and product codes, along with photos of the product labels. The products include Vegan Chicken Nuggets, Vegan Spicy Beef, Vegan Citrus Spareribs, Vegetarian Fish Ham, Vegan Ginger Chicken, and other products. If you purchased these products and are allergic to egg, do not eat them. Discard them or return to the place of purchase for a refund.
