Whole Foods Market SW Recalls Mini Butter Croissants

Whole Foods Market Southwest Region is recalling mini butter croissants because they contain eggs, one of the major food allergens, that is not declared on the label. Anyone with an allergy or severe sensitivity to eggs could have a serious reaction if they consume this product. One person has reported an allergic reaction. That is how the problem was discovered.

The recalled mini butter croissants were sold with a Whole Foods Market scale label reading “mini butter croissants.” The six pack plastic containers have a “best by” date of April 21 to April 23, 2014 and a UPC number of 2 28719-00499-1 on the scale label. The product was distributed to 26 Whole Foods Market stores in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisiana.

Signs are posted in the stores warning consumers about this issue. If you purchased this product and are allergic to eggs, do not eat it. Return to the place of purchase for a refund or discard the product.
