Beef Strips for Fajita Recalled for Undeclared Peanut

US Foods of New York is recalling 700 pounds of a beef product for undeclared peanut, one of the major food allergens. The company was told that cumin in a spice mix used to make the product may have been contaminated with peanut residue. Those with an allergy or severe sensitivity to peanuts could have a serious allergic reaction if they eat this product. No illnesses have been reported to date.

The recalled product is 5 pound cryo packed cases containing two 5 pound packages of “Beef Cut Strips for Fajita”. They have the establishment number “EST. 7817” inside the USDA mark of inspection. The beef was shipped to other US Foods divisions in Norwich, Connecticut; Peabody, Massachusetts; and Buffalo, New York. The product was produced on November 25, 2014, December 10, 2014, and December 15, 2014.

If you purchased this product and are allergic to peanuts, do not eat it. Discard or return to the place of purchase for a refund.
