Chicken Pie Recalled in Canada for Undeclared Allergens

Thrifty Kitchens and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency are recalling Chicken Veggie Pie and Tourtiere (meat pie) for undeclared allergens. These products may contain milk and soy that are not declared on the label. Anyone who is allergic to milk and/or soy, or who is lactose intolerant could have a serious reaction if they consume these products. No illnesses or reactions have been reported to date.

The recalled products include Thrifty Kitchens Feel-Good Chicken – Chicken Veggie Pie in 700 gram packages. The code on the product is Best Before 15 DE 26 and the UPC number is 7 74147 00288 2. Also recalled is Tourtiere, made by Thrifty Kitchens but with no brand name mentioned, in 700 gram packages. The codes on this product are Best Before 15 DE 26 and 15 DE 27. The UPC number is 0 74147 20024 1.

If you purchased this product and are allergic to milk and/or soy, or are lactose intolerant, do not consume. Throw them away or return to the place of purchase for a refund. You can see pictures of the recalled products at the CFIA web site.
