La Guadalupana Wholesale in Chicago is recalling Hot Chicken, Hot Pork and Salsa Verde Vegan tamales
for undeclared egg white. Consumers with egg allergies should not eat these products as they risk severe reaction if they do.
The recalled products were sold throughout the Illinois, Wisconsin and Indiana between January 16, 2015 and April 8, 2015. The problem was caused when a supplier sent a different corn starch, one that contained egg white, and it was used to make La Guadalupana’s Salsa Verde Sauce.
