Earl’s Meats in Holland, Mich. is recalling turkey lunch meat for possible Listeria contamination. No illnesses had been reported at the time of the recall, but consumers who have purchased the meat should not eat it as Listeria can cause severe illness and death.
The recalled turkey, sold from the retail cooler at Earl’s Meats, has sell-by dates between Feb. 14 and March 3.
Symptoms of a Listeria infection include fever, severe headache, stiff neck, loss of balance and confusion. These symptoms may be preceded by gastrointestinal symptoms. Among pregnant women, listeriosis can causeĀ miscarriages and stillbirths.Anyone experiencing these symptoms should see a doctor.
