Martinelli’s Sparkling Ciders Recalled for Glass Fragments

S. Martinelli & Company of Watsonville, California has issued a nationwide recall of certain lots of Martinelli’s Martinelli's-cider-glass8.4 oz. mini glass bottles of sparkling beverages because they may contain glass fragments. Consumers who have purchased these products should not drink them.

The recalled products include Gold Medal Sparkling Cider, Sparkling Cider Northwest Blend, Sparkling White Grape, and Sparkling Red Grape. Only certain lots of the 8.4 oz. bottles are affected. The recalled products have “Best Before” dates between March 1, 2018 and September 12, 2018, on the front label of the bottle. The company discovered the problem during internal testing when some bottles began to chip when being opened. No other Martinelli’s beverage or size bottle is affected. All retailers who carry the product have been told to remove the product from store shelves.
