Gangothri Goat and Chicken Pickles are being recalled for lack of inspection, according to the USDA. No confirmed reports of illness have been received by the company to date in connection with the consumption of these products. The recalling firm is Indus Foods, doing business as Gangothri Foods of Austin, Texas.

The ready to eat items were produced between January 28, 2026 and May 6, 2026. They have a two-year shelf life. The pickles were sold to restaurants, retail locations, and distributors nationwide, and were also sold directly to consumers online.
The recalled products are:
8 ounce glass jars containing “Gangothri Goat Pickle”
8 ounce glass jars containing “Gangothri Gongura Goat Pickle”
8 ounce glass jars containing “Gangothri Chicken Pickle”
8 ounce glass jars containing “Gangothri Gongura Chicken Pickle”
These items do not have the USDA mark of inspection. The problem was discovered during FSIS surveillance activities. You can see more pictures of the recalled products at the USDA web site.
FSIS is concerned that these products may be in consumers’ pantries or on restaurant and distributor shelves. If you did buy these products, do not eat them and do not sell or serve them to others. You can throw them away in a secure trash can after first double bagging them so other people can’t see them, or you can contact your distributor to arrange for a return.
