Ready Pac Foods of California is recalling 265 pounds of salad kits with grilled chicken because they contain eggs and anchovies, two of the major food allergens, that are not declared on the label. Anchovies fall under the category of fish allergens. No confirmed reports of allergic reactions or illnesses have been received to date.
The recalled product is 15 ounce bowls of ““Ready Pac Foods Bistro Salad Kit with Grilled Chicken, Chopped Thai Style Crunch” with use By date of 11/11/15. The product has the establishment number “P-27497” inside the USDA mark of inspection. They also have the case code “RP#: 29800.” They were shipped to retail locations in California.
Initial launch samples of this new item contained the wrong dressing. The kits have Caesar dressing, which contains egg and anchovies, rather than the intended Sweet Thai Peanut dressing.
If you purchased this item and are allergic to peanuts and/or fish, do not eat it. Discard or return to the place of purchase for a full refund.
