Spice Cake Recalled in Canada for Undeclared Walnuts

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency and McFadgen’s Bakery are recalling Mom’s brand Fiesta Spice Cake because it contains walnuts, or tree nuts, one of the major food allergens, that is not declared on the label. Anyone who is allergic to walnuts could have a serious reaction if they eat this product. There is no word on whether or not any reactions have been reported to date.

Recall SignageThe recalled item is Mom’s Fiesta Spice Cake in 500 gram packages. All codes where walnut is not declared on the label are recalled. The UPC number of the product isĀ 0 61364 18704 2. It was sold in New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island.

If you purchased this product and are allergic to walnuts, do not eat it. Throw it away or return it to the place of purchase for a refund.
