General Mills Recalls Two Flavors of Cake Mix for Possible Contamination

Two flavors of Betty Crocker Cake Mix are being recalled for possible E. coli O121 contamination. This is a secondary recall because the flour used to make this product was recalled and is linked to an E. coli O121 outbreak in the U.S. No illnesses reported to date have been connected to the cake mix.

The two flavors include Betty Crocker Delights Super Moist Party Rainbow Chip Cake Mix. The UPC number is 000-16000-40997, and the Better if Used by Dates are 25MAR2017, 28MAR2017, 27APR2017, 28APR2017, 23MAY2017, 24MAY2017, and 25MAY2017. The second product recalled is Betty Crockpot Delights Super Moist Carrot Cake Mix. The UPC number for that product is 000-16000-40987 and the Better if Used by Dates are 12APR2017, 13APR2017, 14APR2017, 28MAY2017, 29MAY2017, 30MAY2017, 07JUL2017, and 08JUL2017.

If you bought these products, do not use them. Throw them away in a sealed secure garbage can or return them to the store where you bought them for a refund.
