Kashi GoLean Bars and Bear Naked Granola Listeria Recall Expands

bear naked granola recallKashi Company has expanded ad Listeria recall to include additional date codes of Kashi GOLEAN Honey Pecan Baklava Bars and Bear Naked Soft Baked Granola, Cinnamon + Sunflower Butter. Consumers who have purchased these products should not eat them as Listeria can cause serious illness and death.

The recall was issued after Kashi was notified by its sunflower seed supplier, SunOpta, that the seeds may contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. The recall now includes: Kashi GOLEAN Honey Pecan Baklava Bars, 5-count with UPC Code 18627 10474 – “Best If Used Before”dates of Jul21 16; Aug07 16; Sep13 16; Sep22 16; and Oct20 16 in addition to bars with the UPC 18627 03000 and Best before dates: JAN0417; JAN0517; JAN0617; JAN0717; JAN0817; JAN09 17. And Bear Naked Soft Baked Granola, Cinnamon + Sunflower Butter, 11 oz pouch with UPC Code 84623 10163 – “Best if Used By”dates of Aug 13 2016 to Jan 11 2017 in addition to the previously recalled UPC 84623 10163 with best by dates JAN 10 2017 and JAN 11 2017 and UPC 84623 10173 with best by dates DEC 24 2016; DEC 25 2016; JAN 11 2017; JAN 12 2017; JAN 13, 2017.

The date codes can be found on the top of the box of the Honey Pecan Baklava Bars, and at the bottom of the pouch of the Bear Naked Granola.

Symptoms of a Listeria infection can take as long as 70 days to develop and include: high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea. Among pregnant women, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths.
