Kasih Halva Recalled for Undeclared Sesame

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Salem Brothers are recalling Kasih brand Halva, a Middle Eastern dessert, for undeclared sesame. Sesame is one of the food allergens in Canada that must be indicated on the label. These products were sold nationally at the retail level.

RecallThe recalled products are all Kasih brand. All codes where sesame is not declared on the label are recalled. The first is Premium Quality Halva Extra with Pistachio in 450 gram packages. The UPC number is 6 253001 010439. Also recalled is Premium Quality Halva Extra Vanilla in 900 gram packages. The UPC number for that product is 6 253001 010378. Premium Quality Halva Super Extra with Nuts in 450 gram packages is recalled, with UPC number6 253001 010453. Finally, Premium Quality Halva Super Extra with Nuts in 900 gram packages is recalled. The UPC number for that product is 6 253001 010408.

If you purchased any of these products and are allergic to sesame, do not eat them. Discard them or return to the place of purchase for a refund.
