Baraka Bakery Recalls Halal Ground Beef for Possible E. coli O157:H7

Baraka Bakery and Grocery in Nashville, Tennessee, is recalling an undetermined amount of ground beef products because they may be contaminated with E. coli O157:H7 bacteria. There have been no confirmed reports of illnesses received to date in connection with this problem.

The ground beef was sold to consumers from the firm’s retail location in Tennessee. The Halal ground beef items were processed and packaged on dates from April 19, 2017 through April 26, 2017. The beef is butcher ground to order “Halal Ground Beef.”

If you purchased this product, do not eat it even if you are going to cook it thoroughly. FSIS is concerned that some of the product may be frozen in consumers’ freezers. Throw it away in a sealed container, or take it back to the store where you bought it for a full refund.
