Ukrop’s Chili Recalled for Undeclared Allergens

Ukrop’s Homestyle Foods is recalling about 45 pounds of beef and chicken chili flavored soup because it contains milk, wheat, and soy, three of the major food allergens, that are not declared on the label. Anyone who is allergic to those ingredients, or who is lactose intolerant or has celiac disease, could have a serious reaction if they eat these products. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions received to date.

The recalled soups include 24 ounce clear plastic containers of Ukrop’s Chili Flavored Soup with Beans and Chicken with a sell by date of 02/0817. The other recalled product is 24 ounce clear plastic containers of Ukrop’s Chili Flavored Soup with Beans and Beef with a sell by date of 02/08/17.

The products were produced on February 2, 2017. They have the establishment number “EST. 19979” or “P-19979” inside the USDA mark of inspection. The soups were shipped to retail locations in Virginia. The problem was discovered when employees at a store noticed that the product label did not match the product.

If you purchased these soups and cannot eat wheat, milk, or soy, do not consume them. Throw them away or take them back to the store where you bought them for a full refund.
