Wildway Recalls Granola for Possible Listeria Contamination

Wildway LLC is recalling some of their grain-free granola products because they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes bacteria. No illnesses have been reported in connection with these products.

Most of the recalled products were sold nationwide. Those products include Wildway Apple Cinnamon Grain-free Granola in 8 ounce packages with UPC number 85866005190. Lot codes are 096 and 097, and best by dates are 040618 and 040718. Also recalled is Wildway Apple Cinnamon Grain-free Granola in 10 ounce packages, with UPC number 864352000015, lot code 097, and best by date 040718. Wildway Banana Nut Grain-free Granola in 8 ounce packages is recalled, with UPC number 858660005176 and lot codes of 089, 096, and 100, and respective best by dates of 033018, 040618, and 041018. Wildway Coconut Cashew Grain-free Granola in 8 ounce packages is recalled, with UPC number 858660005183 and lot codes 090, 096, and 101, with respective best by dates of 103117, 110617, and 111117. Wildway Coconut Cashew Grain-free Granola in 10 ounce packages is recalled, with no UPC number, and lot codes 090, 086, and 102, and respective best by dates 103117, 110617, and 111117.  And Wildway Vanilla Bean Espresso Grain-free Granola in 8 ounce packages is recalled, with UPC number 858660005206, lot codes 089 and 090, and respective best by dates 033018 and 033118.

Trader Joe’s Grainless Granola, in 8 ounce packages with SKU 56307 is also recalled. This product was sold in AL, AZ, CA, CO, CT, D.C., DE, LA, MA, MD, ME, NH, NM, NJ, NV, NY, OK, PA, RI, TX, UT, VA and VT. The lot codes on that product are 087, 088, 096, and 100, with respective best by dates of 032818, 032918, 040618, and 041018.

If you purchased these products, do not eat them. Throw them away in a sealed container or take them back to the store where you bought them for a refund. Then clean out your pantry with a mild bleach solution to kill any bacteria.

If you ate these products, watch yourself for the symptoms of listeriosis for the next 70 days. Those symptoms include high fever, stiff neck, severe headache, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. Pregnant women need to be very careful about listeriosis, since it can cause miscarriage and stillbirth even if the woman is only mildly ill. If you do feel sick, see your doctor.
