Foods Recalled for Undeclared Milk and Eggs

Two foods recalled this week for undeclared allergens. Vanilla Almond Breeze Almond Milk was recalled for undeclared milk, and Sweet EARTH Aloha BBQ Quesadillas were recalled for undeclared eggs and milk.

The first recall is for Sweet Earth Aloha BBQ Quesadillas. The product was sold in 8 ounce packages. The product has the Sweet Earth Aloha BBQ Quesadilla exterior packaging but it contains the Sweet Earth Mile High Quesadilla in an interior clear plastic wrapper that reads “MILE HIGH.” The ingredient statement on the exterior package doesn’t identify the food allergens eggs and milk, which are in the Mile High Quesadilla.

The product was produced on May 29, 2018. It was distributed to Target stores nationally and the Strack & Van Til Food Market in Indiana and Illinois. The quesadillas have a UPC number 016741000551 on the package of the package, a lot numberer 8149, and a “best by” date of 6/28/19. The company was informed about this issue by a consumer complaint. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this recall.

The second recall is for Vanilla Almond Breeze Almond Milk produced by HP Hood LLC. The product is sold in half gallon containers and is refrigerated. There has been one report of an allergic reaction, but that person did not require medical treatment.

The almond milk was sold in Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Wisconsin. The recalled product is refrigerated Vanilla Almond Breeze almond milk with a use by date of September 2, 2018. The information is printed in this format: USE BY: SEP 02 18 (07:36 – 20:48) H5 L1 51-4109. The UPC number on the recalled product is 41570 05621.

If you bought either of these foods recalled for undeclared allergens, and are allergic to the respective allergens, don’t eat it. Throw it away or return it to the place of purchase for a refund.
