Koch Foods of Fairfield Ohio is recalling 119,480 ponds of beef rib-shaped patty products that may be contaminated with foreign material. A customer contacted the company, saying that they found thin blue plastic pieces in the product. This can present a choking hazard. No illnesses or injuries have been reported to date in connection with this recalled product.
The fully cooked, not-shelf-stable rib-shaped beef patty with BBQ sauce products were produced on July 8, 2016. It is 30 pound bulk boxes containing 6 plastic shrink-wrapped unlabeled packages of “Fully Cooked Rib-Shaped Beef Patty With BBQ Sauce.” The case code on the product is “67329,” and the lot number “JTM 16190” are stamped on the label. These products have the establishment number “EST. 20795” inside the USDA mark of inspection. They were shipped to distributors nationwide for institutional use.
Koch Foods was informed about this issue on April 5, 2018. The first notified the USDA about the problem on the same day.
FSIS is concerned that some of this product may be frozen in consumers’ freezers. If you have this product in your home, do not eat it. Throw it away in a sealed container, or take it back to the place of purchase for a full refund.
