Two products: Milk Chocolate Flavored Coated Wafer by Lidl USA, and Sesame Noodle Salad by Gourmet Take Away, have been recalled for undeclared allergens. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with these two recalls.
The first recall is for undeclared egg in Gourmet Take Away Sesame Noodle Salad Vegan. That product was sold at Market of Choice stores in Ashland, Eugene, Bend, Corvallis, Portland, and West Linn in Oregon between July 30, 2018 through September 7, 2018. The salad was packaged in 8 ounce and 16 ounce containers. The 8 ounce size has the UPC number 0211630203994, and the 16 ounce size has the UPC number 0 211637 807492. Both containers have sell by dates of 8/4/18 through 9/13/18.
That recall was announced when the facility found that product containing egg was distributed in packaging that didn’t mention egg. Egg is one of the eight major food allergens.
The second recall is for Lidl Lidl US has voluntarily recalled all Bellona brand “Milk Chocolate Flavored Coated Wafer with Hazelnut Crème Filling and White Chocolate Flavor.” That product is being recalled for undeclared wheat. Anyone who is allergic to wheat or who has celiac disease should not eat this product.
Wheat flour is correctly listed as an ingredient on the product package, but the allergen statement doesn’t declared wheat, as required by law. This product was sold at all Lidl U.S. stores. The recall notice doesn’t name a UPC number or best by date on the product.
If you purchased either of these products and cannot eat the respective undeclared allergens in them, throw them away. You can also return them to the place of purchase for a refund.
