Some type of Sobeys brand packaged vegetable salads are being recalled in Canada for possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. No illnesses have been reported in connection with this issue.
The products were distributed at the retail level in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island. The recall was triggered by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency’s (CFIA) inspection activities.
The recalled products are all Sobeys brand. All precuts with best before dates up to and including 18 OC 07 are recalled. Most of these products were sold in variable sizes. They include Bacon Broccoli Cheddar Salad with a UPC number that starts with 217172, Bacon Broccoli Salad with a UPC number that begins with 227332, Brocc/Cauli/Carrot with a UPC number that starts with 282038, Broccoli & Bacon Salad with Cheddar; the UPC number on that product starts with 227162, and Broccoli & Cauliflower Florettes, with a UPC number that begins with 208183.
Also recalled is Sobeys Broccoli Florettes with a UPC number that starts with 208203, Celebration Swt Veg Tray in 1000 gram packages, with a UPC number that begins with 208688, Celebration Veg Tray W/O Dip with a UPC number that begins with 282995, and Celebration Veg Tray FS with a UPC number that starts with 203006. Celebration Veg Tray Lg, with UPC number that starts with 254589 is recalled, along with GourmMin Broccoli & Bcn Salad, with a UPC number that starts with 267332, and Mixed Veggie Sticks with a UPC number that begins with 208974.
Rainbow Veggie Platter with a UPC number that starts with 265583 is recalled, along with Sunshine Veggie Tray w/Dip in 1 kg packages. That product has a UPC number that starts with 208239. Vegetable Nibbler 14N Square is recalled, with a UPC number that starts with 208675, along with Vegetable Nibbler Tray square with a UPC number that beings with 208673. Finally, Vegetable Tray SS, with a UPC number that starts with 252793 is recalled, along with Veggie Might with UPC number that begins with 265589, and Veggie Stir Fry Mix with a UPC number that starts with 208551.
If you purchased any of these products, do not eat them. Throw them away in a sealed garbage can, or take them back to the place of purchase for a refund.
