Two products have been recalled for undeclared egg, one of the major food allergens. Anyone who is allergic to egg who consumes these products could have a serious reaction. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with these recalls.
The first recall is for Gourmet Cream Cheese Cinnamon Rolls from Schwartz Brothers Bakery. It was sold in QFC stores in Washington state.
The product is packaged in a 16 ounce clamshell container and is sold under the Schwartz Brothers Bakery brand. One hundred and six units are recalled. The product UPC number is 7 17887 65082 1, and is coded with the sell by date 03/15/18.
This recall was initiated after it was discovered that some Cinnamon Streusel Coffee Cake, which does contain egg, was mislabeled as the Cinnamon Rolls.
The second recall is for Wegmans Thai Sweet Chili Sauce Cup. This product was sold individually and is also packaged with two Sushi/Asian products. They were sold in Wegmans stores in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Maryland, and Massachusetts.
The individual cup is in 1.5 ounce packages, with a best by date of 7/4/18 or 7/5/18 and the UPC number 7-66630-98023. The sushi products that contain this sauce include Wegmans Avocado Summer Roll, 2 pack, in 5 ounce packages. The UPC numbers on that product are 2-48762-00000 or 2-48920-00000. Only packages with a use by date of 3/10/18 are affected by this recall. The second sushi product recalled is Wegmans Assorted Gyoza (Dumplings) Family Pack, in 17 ounce packages. The UPC numbers on that product are 2-48798-00000 or 2-48963-00000. Only packages with a use by date of 3/9/18 are recalled. A Wegmans employee in one store discovered that the incorrect sauce had been packaged and labeled incorrectly.
If you bought these products and are allergic to egg, don’t eat them. Throw them away or take them back to the store where you bought them for a refund.
