There are two recalls for undeclared allergens today. The first is for several brands of cheeses, breads, and desserts for undeclared soy, egg, wheat, and milk by Productos Pacheco, Inc. The second is for Sun Noodle Tonkotsu Ramen, which is being recalled for undeclared fish.
The recall by Productos Pacheco is in Spanish, so it will not be posted in full here. If you purchase those products, go to the FDA website and read the recall notice, which includes the UPC number, package size, and allergens. The recalled products include Mallorca, Pan, Pan con Pasas, Mallorca Queso, Mallorca Guava Queso, Polvorones, Pound Cake, Bizcocho Zanahoria, Bizcocho Maiz, Bizcocho Vaninilla Queso, and Bizcocho Vanilla Queso Guava. These products were sold in Puerto Rico.
The second recalled product is by Sun Noodle of Nerjersey. One lot of their retail Tonkotsu Ramen is mis-labeled. The product is labeled Tonkotsu, but the actually flavor packet inside the product is Assari Shoe, which contains sardines. Anyone who is allergic to fish could have a serious reaction if they eat this product. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this issue.
This recalled product was sent primarily to Asian food distributors in the New Jersey, Georgia, Illinois, Texas, and New York areas, and then on to retail stores. It is packaged in a clear plastic clamshell, banded with a Sun Noodle label that reads “Tonkotsu Ramen.” The affected product contains 2 purple and white soup base packets, which correctly show the name “Assari Shoyu” flavor. The products affected by the recall are labeled with lot code 3117332. That is the only lot code that is recalled.
If you purchased either of these products and are allergic to fish or to soy, egg, wheat, and/or milk, do not eat them. Throw them away or take them back to the store where you bought them for a full refund.
