Birdseed Food Company, of Bend, Oregon, is recalling their Craft Granola Goldenola Turmeric & Ginger because it contains undeclared cashews, or tree nuts, that are not declared on the label. Any person who is allergic to or who has a severe sensitivity to, that ingredient could have a serious adverse reaction if they consume this product. No illnesses have been reported to the company or the FDA.
The Granola was distributed in California, Connecticut, Maryland, New York, Oregon, and Pennsylvania ate retail stores. It was also sold through several different websites.
The recalled product, Craft Granola Goldenola Turmeric & Ginger was sold between the date of October 3, 2018 through February 7, 2019. It was sold in 11 ounce and 3 ounce yellow bags. All expiration dates up to and including 061419 are recalled. You can find the retail stores where the product was sold, and the websites that carried the granola, at the FDA website.
This mislabeling happened because new packaging was developed in October 2018. The firm was notified about this problem via a consumers email. They will remove the cashews from the recipe in the future.
If you purchased this product and are allergic to cashews, do not eat it. Throw the product away, or take it back to the place of purchase for a refund.
