Candy King Worms Recalled For Excess Nicotine Content

Drip More, LP is recalling four lots of Candy King Worms that were made by a contract manufacturer because the product has a higher concentration of nicotine than indicated on the label. This can cause “immediate and potentially serious adverse health effects” such as nausea, vomiting, headache, rapid heart rate, dizziness, and seizures. Accidental nicotine exposure in children can be harmful or fatal. If anyone is experiencing any of these symptoms after consuming this product, they should call the Poison Control Center at 1-800-222-1222.

No reports of illness or injury have been received by the company to date. Some consumers have told the company that the product tastes bad or bitter.

About 7,015 units were shipped to distributors, retailers, wholesalers, and consumers in Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, North Carolina, New Jersey, Nevada, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Washington, West Virginia, and Wyoming. The recalled product is Candy King – Worms 3mg 100ml. This is the information on the recalled product:

  • Candy King – Worms 3mg/100ml – Lot Number: WO03021819-2
  • Candy King – Worms 3mg/100ml – Lot Number: WO03021819-3
  • Candy King – Worms 3mg/100ml – Lot Number: WO03021819-4

The product has the UPC number 653341196767 printed in two places on the package: on the bottom portion of panel C of the outer packaging box, and on the bottom portion of panel C of the label. You can see pictures of the product at the FDA web site.

If you purchased this product, do not eat it. Throw it away after first wrapping it in foil or plastic wrap. Put the product in a secure garbage can with a lid. You can also take it back to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

Adverse reactions from this and other products can be reported to the FDA Center for Tobacco Products safety reporting portal.
